About Me

________________________________________________________________________________________________

I have been bird watching since 1988 and for most of this time I have been based in Bedfordshire.

In the early days most of my birding was done on the coast, mainly in Norfolk. In 1991 I took my first trip to the Isles of Scilly and from that point on I was addicted to seeing rare and scarce birds in the UK. After 12 years of twitching there wasn't the need to travel so often so it was time to get a "patch" .

With the kind permission from the landowner, Radwell lakes in north Bedfordshire became this "Patch" and most of my birding was carried out in this county.

In 2002 I attempted to beat the county year list record of 186 species but fell a few short so I tried again in 2004. This time with more luck. I finished the year on 189. I think I may have another go at it in 2006 so watch this space!!

It wasn't till 2003 that I purchased my Sony camcorder and Christmas of 2004 that I finally got a Kyocera digital stills camera but as I found this to be a very poorly thought out camera riddled with technical fualts I have now got myself a Coolpix 4500. This site aims to show you a selection of my photos and give you an idea of what I've been up to.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any comments.

Cheers, Andy Plumb.
